¡Hola y buenas tardes a todos!
My oh my, here we are again. We once again find ourselves here living another Monday and starting another week. Things are looking happier here now. Durring the week, we have received a bit of rain and we have had quite a few cloudy days. March madness is really showing through and manifesting itself in the weather of Mexico City. Things seem to have calmed down now though. It is really interesting how cloudy days just make one want to crawl back into bed or mope around. But, obviously, we as missionaries can’t do that! So, I am glad that the sun has reappeared. We’ll see how long that lasts. I hope that this week turns out great despite the weather.
Ok, so to start the week out, Tuesday we had our zone meeting in the stake center at ten o’clock. Every month, we have a zone meeting to receive some instruction as to what will be happening in the month and to give us an overview of what we will be covering in our district meetings durring the month. This time, we talked about the importance of constantly studying the gospel and practicing durring our companionship studies. Durring the meeting, we talked about the concept that instead of constantly adquiring knowledge, we are actually losing knowledge. Because of that, it is important that we constantly study the scriptures, especially as missionaries, so that we can retain most of our knowledge. We then did some practices to apply the practice model that we have as missionaries (explain, demonstrate, practice, evaluate, re-practice).
Saturday, we had the opportunity to go to the Visitor Center with the Hermana Angeles and her son Eric. Angeles is a convert that was baptized about a month ago. She is a great person, really a golden convert. Her son Eric is really interested in the church and is excited for his baptism on the 29th. While at the Visitor Center, we had the chance to teach them about the modern prophet and apostles, the Book of Mormon, and eternal families. I love going to the Visitor Center because the Spirit is so strong there and there are so many things that we can use to teach our investigators about the gospel. I especially love seeing the video that the church has about God’s plan for the family. Hermana Angeles has a strong desire that all of her family can accept the gospel and be sealed in the temple some day.
Well, unfortunately my time is up. I need to close up now, but not without sharing my testimony. I know that Christ lives. He is our Savior, Redeemer, and is also our Eldest Brother. Something else that was mentioned in our zone meeting this week is that we need to have a fresh testimony of the gospel. Truley, we can pray to our Heavenly Father anytime and anywhere and he will answer our prayers. There is no better way than sincere prayer to help keep our testimony ‘fresh’ and strong. This is the Lord’s work. We are His children, and he loves us. Of this I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
