Here we are now starting the fourth week of this transfer and the last week of January. My oh my, things just keep picking up the pace. That’s a good thing though, because that means that we have work to get done. I’m glad to hear that things are going well there at home. Elder Polanco and I are doing well here. We are getting along well and are excited to start another week of work. There is a lot to do this week, so I guess we will see just how we can fit everything in. We are having some unusually warm weather here right now, so that is making things a little easier. Last year at this time, the weather was still a little cold in Tulpetlac. I don’t know if that is because I was in the hills, or because last winter was just colder.
Well, so some great things have happened this week. We have been able to see some miracles happen in the life of one of our investigators. One of our new investigators, Crecensio, told us this week that his son is doing much better healthwise. He son has been affected by partial paralysis for some time now and it sounds like he has recovered some of his mobility. That has helped Crecensio to start to receive a testimony of what we have been teaching him. We will be focussing now on helping Crecensio to receive a testimony of the Book of Mormon.
We have also finally been able to put a baptismal date with another investigator, Laura. She has been attending church now for months but wanted to wait until January to be baptized to sort of honor her mom that passed away a year ago. We will be having her baptism this week, and it will be great to help her take this step in her life. The next step will be helping her and her family prepare to do the temple work for her mom.
Yesterday, we went to the Visitor Center with a family that we have been working with. The Hermana Angeles and her family have been inactive for some time, and we went to the Visitor Center with her, her son, his wife and a friend. The wife of the son is not a member, and so we are hoping to help her start to attend church and reactivate the family.
Well, time to wrap up. I know that this is the work of the Lord. This is the true church of God. It is marvelous to see the blessings that come from the restored gospel. I know that the priesthood, the power and authority of God, has been restored to the earth today. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
