On We Go!…… Jan. 12, 2015

I am glad to hear that everyone is doing well and that things are moving along.  I hope everyone is healthy and happy.  It really is great to hear every week how things are going and see how blessed I am to have family and friends who support me.
Today, we had our zone activity.  We had the opportunity to get to know everyone in the Zone a little better.  The zone leaders also organized a little team competition that consisted of some small daily activities that we experience as missionaries.  These activities ranged from eating a bowl of cereal as fast as you can to writing some Dear John letters.  The competition with the Dear John letters consisted of trying to write the funniest Dear John letter possible.  We ended the activity by eating hot dogs.
Things are going well here in our area.  Elder Polanco are working well and we are getting to know each other.  As is generally true with those from the Dominican Republic, ElderPolanco is always moving, almost always talking, and is always full of energy.  That will help us keep things going and pick up the pace.  We found some new investigators this week and we hope to find even more this week.  We received some new mormon.org pass-out cards today, so we are going to put them to work and see how things go using them to contact.  The church is really putting emphasis on getting new contacting tools out.  We saw that with La Dádiva movement and we are seeing it now with these new cards.
We are looking to have a baptism this weekend.  We are hoping to baptize one of our investigators who contacted us on the street a few weeks ago.  He has really changed and has a strong desire to keep moving forward and learning.  When one has the desire to change and find God, the Spirit guides us to them or brings them to us.  Then, when you see the fruits of repentance show forth in that person, you really do feel great because you are helping someone change their life.
Well, it is time to wrap up this week.  Time is short and my time this week is up.  I know that this church is true.  I testify that this is the work of the Lord.  We are here to preach His gospel and help His children come to the truth.  There is no work more rewarding than this.  Joseph Smith truly was chosen by God to restore the church and the gospel to the earth.  Just as Nebuchadnezzar saw, the church will one day roll forth to fill the earth.  Of this I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
