¡Buenas tardes familia!
I am glad to again hear that the rug has not been pulled suddenly from under your feet. From what I have read, you are all still standing. I hope school and work aren’t too busy.
This week has gone quite well as we have seen an improvement in our lessons and have found a few new investigators. The Lord has truly demonstrated this week how He is in control and that this is His work.
After reviewing our area plan that I commented on last week, I put myself to think about the things I need to be doing to be a better missionary and how I can work to achieve the standards that have been set for us. I pin-pointed a couple things, and then went to work. As a result, the Lord put in our path a few people who are interested in the Church and are in need of the gospel. One of these people is a referral of a recent convert sister in our area. Another basically ran into us (almost literally) as we were leaving the chapel one day when we went to contact another referral (who we have an appointment with this week). These contacts were only possible because we were in the right place at the right time.
The contacts and improvement that we had this week were a result of our work, and we now need to make sure that we work even harder this week. We have the tools to help these people come to a knowledge of the restored gospel – Preach My Gospel, the scriptures, and the Spirit – and it is our responsibility to make sure these tools are applied correctly. A large part of this work is keeping ourvision focused. When we lose sight of why we are here and where we are going, our efforts and faith become unfocussed and the tools that were sharp and agile before suddenly become dull and unbalanced.
In the midst of this work, we can find true joy.
